I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
